As a Marketing and Storytelling Intern, Giovanna Barragan (she/her) works with the Marketing and Storytelling team to collaborate on branding, storytelling, panels, and more. She is a current sophomore at the University of Southern California and majors in non-governmental organizations and social change. Her passion of giving back was ignited during her time in high school and transcended into college where she continued to volunteer in organizations such as WaterDropLA and International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) in New Orleans, where she learned about the impact of Hurricane Katrina and the powerful stories that emerged from it. As a Making Waves Education Foundation scholarship recipient Giovanna recognizes the importance of resources and support for students like herself. She is thrilled to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing these resources – and is excited to enhance engagement, outreach, and storytelling about a community she cares about.
