Wave-Maker Spotlight: Ciera-Jevae, Media, Arts, and Culture Manager and Poet Laureate

In this year’s annual report, we feature an excerpt of a poem written by 9th Waver Ciera-Jevae, who is the Media, Arts, and Culture Manager at the Ryse Center and the Poet Laureate for the city of Richmond. In the first video below, watch Ciera-Jevae perform her poem, “Balancing Act,” which she wrote for the 2018 CAP graduates. At Making Waves, we are committed to educational equity. Making Waves Education Foundation is a Bay Area nonprofit that supports Making Waves Academy – a public charter school with more than 1,100 5th through 12th grade students – and leads college and career programming with more than 430 college students.​
