We know the unique talents, skills, and life experiences you bring and we are excited to partner with you as you reflect, learn, and grow throughout your college and career journey.

Important dates and deadlines

Program requirements throughout the year support you on your path to getting your college degree with minimal debt and landing a college-level job.

Be sure to check your email and Wave-Maker portal and stay on top of deadlines. Here are the first set of dates and deadlines during the onboarding process.

You’re in! Congrats on your acceptance into our Making Waves college and career success program.

 

Here is how to secure your spot!

 

  • April 3: Application decision emails sent to students
  • April 18: TWO items are due:
    1. Acceptance survey (sent by email on April 3)
    2. Registration documents (sent by DocuSign on April 7)

College decision and financial aid support

Let’s be real – the transition to college can be overwhelming. There are a lot of barriers and unwritten rules to navigate. That is why Making Waves is here to  partner with you on your journey. 

 

Here are required meetings where you’ll get support from both the Making Waves Academy and Making Waves Education Foundation teams. Check your email for scheduling these:

 

  • April 4-22: College financial fit meetings
  • April 23-25: SIR (Student Intent to Register) payment
  • April 28-30: Student housing payment
  • May 1: College decision day!

Required orientations and survey

Build your college community before classes even start. You’ll meet your college, career, and financial team – plus hear from college students and alumni.

 

Here are THREE required steps to complete your onboarding.

 

1. Virtual Orientation (choose one):

  • April 28 6-7 p.m. (option 1)
  • April 30 6-7 p.m. (option 2)

 

2. Navigator Survey (due May 31)

  • You’ll receive this by email May 1
  • Your responses help us tailor coaching and resources for you based on where you are in your journey toward earning your degree, gaining work experience, and building strong financial habits. There are no right or wrong answers!

 

3. In-Person Orientation: First-Year Kick-Off (attend all, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the foundation)

  • June 16: College day 
  • June 17: Career day
  • June 18: Financial day

 

We’ll have lunch, snacks, and supplies for you each day. More information coming soon. We can’t wait to see you!

Starting your college journey and getting into this college and career success program is a huge accomplishment. Our entire Making Waves community is celebrating you. 

 

Here are some upcoming and optional ways to celebrate your achievements and meet students, alums, and supporters within the Making Waves community:

 

Quick links

Submit your documents, find your scholarship info, and complete your program requirements.

Check your financial aid, submit your FAFSA application, and download your FAFSA Submission Summary, or FSS.

Gain state financial aid, including the Cal Grant, if you are an undocumented or mixed-status student.
