Lope Akinnitire (she/her) is Making Waves Education Foundation’s UX Research Intern this spring. She is a senior at UC Berkeley, studying accessible media through the Interdisciplinary Studies Field, or ISF, Program. In this role, she hopes to leverage her research background in sociology and accessibility to improve the company’s digital payments system and understanding of opportunity equity among students. Having been helped by a similar program during her high school years, Lope recognizes the impact of Making Waves’ services for students and hopes she can contribute to that mission.
