Andrea Hernandez is the Alumni Coordinator for Making Waves Foundation’s College and Alumni Program (CAP). In this role, she works closely with the Lead Career and Alumni Coach to plan and execute programming, events, and outreach for the alumni community. Andrea grew up in San Francisco but has also called Los Angeles and Brazil home. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Occidental College and more recently earned her MS in Counseling with a specialization in College Counseling at San Francisco State University. She has a background in college access, mentoring, teaching, and counseling. When she is not at Making Waves Foundation, she works as an adjunct counselor and instructor at Skyline College in the peninsula. The most meaningful part of her work at Making Waves is supporting first-generation college students and young professionals navigate life and goals after college.
