Ms. Rosie Simpson is a College Coach in the College and Alumni Program (CAP) for Making Waves Foundation. As a College Coach she works individually with students, assisting them with academic and personal success in college and beyond. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Ms. Simpson spent most of her youth in Oakland. After completing her BA in Social Science at California State University, Chico, she went on to earn her master’s degree in Educational Administration in New York. As a first-generation college student, Federal TRIO Programs and Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) alumni, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she credits her ability to attend college and graduate as a result of the opportunities given to her through educational access and retention programs. Ms. Simpson believes that education is the tool to end generational poverty and loves working within a foundation that aligns with her beliefs.
